A Few Good Links

An interesting article about extroverted introverts….do you relate to this at all? I definitely do, in certain respects.

The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P. is a book I really enjoyed (from what I can remember…would love to reread it). Here, the author of that book explores the difference in the way male authors write about falling in love versus the way female authors do. There’s a big disparity in how writers depict the experience for each gender…the difference may surprise you!

I’m kind of obsessed with Momofuku Milk Bar (the birthday cake milkshake…so good), and they actually hold “Bake the Book” classes at their Williamsburg location, which sounds like so much fun. These pictures make me want to go even more…so many sprinkles!

For my NYC readers: Ya know how there are so many subscription boxes out there, a la Birchbox? Around the Blox is a new one, but with a bit of a twist – instead of sending you stuff, they send you experiences. They’re still in a pre-launch phase, but you can find out more here!

Kinda freaked out when I saw the beautiful new NYC Cire Trudon store on the One Kings Lane blog – it looks beautiful and it’s their first store in the US. Cire Trudon is a Parisian candle company that has been around since the days of Louis XIV, when they provided the candles for Versailles daily (!). I actually passed by last weekend but didn’t stop in (in an attempt to be good), and now I regret it. Will be rectifying that mistake on Saturday – can’t wait to check it out!

Obsessed with the lovely pistachio and pink color scheme of these photos. And the outfit – it’s so pretty! I would love to wear that even though it doesn’t quite fit into my lifestyle.

I haven’t been shopping for clothes much lately, but there are so many good spring things at Gap and Old Navy right now that I had to order a bunch to try (probably will return a bunch too, we’ll see what fits). High hopes for this striped shift, this blouse which I think is a dead ringer for Rebecca Taylor, this tank which I just love (even though I have way too many similar versions), and this easy breezy dress. I also ordered these pj shorts (splatter!) and these floral printed pj pants – so cute.  I got a 40% discount by going through Ebates too, so that was great!

If you follow me on Snap (@jclair24), you may have noticed that House of Cards has consumed my life completely and entirely. It’s so. So. Addicting. And how cute is Corey Stoll? Is anyone else obsessed with him? Oh but word to the wise – don’t Google him if you start watching the show from Season 1. Major spoilers abound on the dang Internet!

So excited to see The First Monday in May, a documentary that pulls the curtain back on preparations for the 2015 Met Ball – which was the kickoff to one of the most successful Met Costume Exhibitions of all time, China: Through the Looking Glass. As you may remember, I saw the exhibition last year and it was amazing, so to see a behind-the-scenes look at the whole process of putting it together is going to be awesome!

PS – there’s still time to enter the giveaway for a framed NY “5” print from Knowlita!
