How to Organize a Small Bathroom

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Eileen Fisher Home for Garnet Hill. All opinions are my own!

Today for my second post in collaboration with Eileen Fisher Home, I’m excited to share some tips for styling and organizing a teensy tiny bathroom. The way I see it, just because your bathroom is small, that doesn’t mean it can’t be functional and stylish. True, I can’t exactly hang wallpaper or install a gorgeous mirror as I would ideally like do in a bathroom, but in a small space, it’s all about making the best of what you’ve got (and being grateful that your bathroom has a sink, and that your bathtub isn’t in the kitchen – real situations, people). And when it comes to bathrooms, making the most of your space also means getting the best towels you can find – and so far, I’m really loving the Eileen Fisher Plush Organic Cotton Towels that the brand sent over for me to try.

For my bathroom, I chose a striped shower curtain in a soft stripe (from West Elm) just to add a little pop of pattern. In the future I might go for a white one (like this linen curtain), just because it makes the space appear so much bigger. I keep a lidded basket on top of the toilet tank which holds my brushes and various other things that I use daily…I like that in addition to being really useful, it also adds something natural and organic to the space.

To add a little personality and style to the space, I keep a Diptyque candle on my shelf, and added a Jonathan Adler acrylic tissue holder (which I love). Plus fresh flowers always help to add a little color and life to a space that gets no natural light.

I wrote a post here about framing these Kate Spade pieces.

Splurge alert! I have a thing for wonderful hand soaps, and this Aesop one is my serious favorite. It is legitimately ridiculously expensive, but I honestly think it’s worth it! It’s like a little treat every time I wash my hands – I just love it.

Ahhh, fluffy towels. Next best thing to falling into soft, clean sheets at the end of the day – wrapping yourself up in a fluffy clean towel after a long, hot shower. The best! As I mentioned in my bedroom makeover post, Eileen Fisher has been creating products for Garnet Hill for the past ten years, all with the goal of imparting a sense of elegance and well-being into the home. The soft texture and fresh, clean white of the Eileen Fisher Plush Organic Towels truly exemplify these values – and bonus – they’re currently on sale.

Another important part of organizing a small bathroom is making smart use of your medicine cabinet (if you’re lucky enough to have one!). I put various things into makeup bags (love this one) to keep items organized, corralled, and out of sight. And yes, I totally cleaned up my medicine cabinet for this post, but I plan on keeping it this orderly!

You can change the outlet cover to white so everything will be white. It’s a cheap and easy change.

That’s such a good idea! I never thought about it before but in pictures it definitely sticks out. I will look into that, thanks!
