A Few Good Links

Some great, simple bookshelf styling tips from One Kings Lane.

I’m not even much of a drinker, but Amy Stone’s list of the best places in NYC to get a tropical drink is getting me in the mood for a pina colada (and summer!).

All the best books coming out this month, according to Refinery 29. As I’ve mentioned, I’m really looking forward to Modern Lovers and Sweetbitter. The Assistants sounds intriguing as well!

This week I attended the opening of Credo Beauty in Nolita, a really cool store that started in San Fransisco. They carry over 100 skincare, haircare, and beauty brands, but only ones that meet their standards for being clean, safe, and healthy – i.e., void of harmful chemicals, phthalates, parabens, synthetic fragrance, and all that other junk that’s in so many beauty products these days. Such a great concept! I’m excited to try the new products I got in my gift bag – items from amazing brands like One Love Organics, Tata Harper, Herbivore Botanicals, and more.

Another cool NYC happening – the Kips Bay Show House opened yesterday! I can’t wait to go in a few weeks, and if you’d like you can check out my posts on last years’ Show House here and here.

Love this pretty blue dress for summer.

I ordered this shirt dress after seeing it looking super chic on Carin from Paris in Four Months (via her Snapchat).

Speaking of Paris, Susan’s beautiful pictures and words have me dying to hop the next plane to a Haven in Paris!

Looking for a great podcast? If you’re a book lover like me, check out the Penguin Random House podcast Beaks and Geeks, where the two hosts interview authors and talk about their favorite reads. The hosts are great (which is kind of a make-or-break for me when it comes to podcasts), and the conversations are genuinely interesting and unique. Some favorites are the interview with LS Hilton, author of the best-selling thriller Maestra (which just shot up on my to-read list!),  Andy Weir – he talked a lot about his anxiety, which was very interesting, and the interview with Tana French, one of my very favorite authors….inordinately excited to hear that she’s working on the sixth Dublin Murder Squad book!

Have a good weekend! I’ll be toiling away on some work for my interior design course…but hopefully making time for some fun stuff too 🙂

  2. I couldn’t agree more about the host making or breaking a podcast. It’s the same way I feel about audio book narrators. If they are bad, I instantly hate what I’m listening to!
