The West Village is arguably one of the most charming parts of New York City. It also happens to be one of the most incredibly confusing parts of the city, to a directionally-challenged individual such as myself, anyway. I hardly ever make it down there (even though I really want to explore it more!), and when I do I tend to get completely lost. Luckily my more adventurous friend Alexis is always up for a trip downtown (she’s a sucker for its charms as well), so when she suggested trying out Hudson Clearwater (not The Little Owl, pictured above…I just thought that was pretty) a few weeks back, I jumped on the opportunity for a fun brunch and a little West Village exploring. The restaurant was fab and also happened to be smack dab in a part of the Village that I’ve never been to at all, which was utterly scenic and charming. We had a perfect day of great eats, taking pictures, and walking around oohing and aahing over the charm of the neighborhood’s architecture…basically my ideal activities!
The West Village is my dream neighborhood. I only like like 5 minutes away, so I frequently find myself wandering around down there. And I love love The Little Owl!
I stay close to the West Village when I visit and love it – still after 8 or so times I haven’t worked my way around. I do know I love Hudson Clearwater, though. I hope you had a good time.

It looks like such a charming area. Your photos are lovely! I'm also directionally-challenged, so I certainly sympathize!
