I’m totally biased to love the Upper EAST side, but I have to admit that a recent shopping trip has me singing the praises of the Upper West. How in the world has it taken me this long to discover the wonder that is Club Monaco (and the fact that there’s one right across town from my apartment)? Every item in the store, besides being stylish, was just so texturally amazing. How often do you think about the texture of clothing while shopping? I pretty much never have, but every item I touched in Club Monaco was either a liquidy silk, a soft as feathers knit, or a rich, smooth leather. It made me think about the quality of clothing in a different way. Perusing this pretty shop was a really lovely way to spend a rainy afternoon!
Pretty plates hanging on the wall inside. Love this display! |
Awesome vintage rug and trunk. Wish these were for sale! |
I got the amazing Kylie Ultra Skinny jeans, a tank top, gloves, and a hat. The gloves are fingerless and extend up the arm, which I love. The beanie is super soft and slouchy, and the first flattering one I’ve ever tried (beanies can be risky territory, in my opinion). Going to come in handy for the brutal snow sure to be coming our way soon. The tank is GORGEOUS, with little leather paillettes sprinkled all over. How cool is that, little leather paillettes? I didn’t even realize they were leather until my sister pointed it out to me, and I just love the textural quality to it.
Paillettes everywhere! |
The jeans we immediately dubbed the “Spanx jeans,” due to the inches they magically remove from your thighs. And the fact that they accomplish this feat while remaining incredibly COMFORTABLE is the most wondrous thing of all! Plus they have the perfect amount of stretch, and even the price tag of $129 was perfectly fine with me, as I’ve paid similar or more for jeans that contained no magical Spanx-like qualities.
Next I stopped in Jonathan Adler down the street-so quirky, so charming, so colorful and all around delightful !
Fell in love with the Muse Noir candle:
Hoping to get that for Christmas! Also popped in Adriano Goldschmied looking for jeans (before we discovered the magical Spanx jeans)-look at this cool table they had made of folded jeans:
Ended off at West Elm, which was all done up for the holidays in gold, silver and sparkle!
What an amazing round up of fabulous shopping spots! This makes me take a plane to NY immediately 🙂
I´ve just discovered your lovely blog and I love it! I´m happy to be your new follower 🙂

great finds!
Wooo hooo! Great post. Would have been an even better day if it hadn't been a downpour, but pretty much every day we plan out together it does, so I should be used to it by now.
Spanx jeans are in-freaking-credible. I pretty much don't take them off. I might have to go back for those gloves too when it starts to get really cold. Very fun day 🙂 Love Club Monoco.
This is so great and neverendless.. Kind of the meaning of NYC, there's always something going on lol
I love your blog girl, so very cute 🙂 Follow each other?? 🙂 🙂
