Contrary to how it may appear on my blog and Instagram, I do occasionally eat things that are healthy. However, I have a big aversion to eating something just because it’s healthy – it has to taste good, otherwise I’m not on board. So you can trust me when I tell you that this green smoothie is absolutely delicious – I eat it almost every day for lunch along with toast with peanut or almond butter.
Healthy Pear Vanilla Green Smoothie
(adapted from Deliciously Ella)
Ingredients:
1 frozen banana
1 ripe pear, washed and cut into four slices
1 tablespoon almond butter
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla powder (or a splash of pure vanilla extract)
3 tablespoons oats
Generous handful of baby spinach
3-4 ice cubes
1/2 cup almond milk – add more if you want a thinner consistency
Instructions:
Throw everything in your blender and blend away (this is the blender I use).
You don’t need to get too precise with measurements, just wing it. This is super yummy – you can’t taste the spinach at all and it mostly tastes of a sweet (but not too sweet), icy cold blend of pear, vanilla, and almond. It’s really filling as well. Enjoy!
