Guys, I’m so, so excited to share this – one of my photos from London is in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveller in the UK! My photography…in an actual, print magazine. I never in a million years would have imagined that this would happen when I picked up photography years back (and from the quality of those first photos, I think it’s safe to say that no one would have guessed that! Hah).
How this came about was that one of the Picture Editors from Condé Nast Traveller UK emailed me back in September asking for permission to license the above photo (which she found from this blog post) for their November issue Fashion Guide section for London. I was flabbergasted! I was like, ummm let me think about it…YES, and didn’t really believe the whole thing was real until the copy arrived in my mailbox a few days ago. It was just the biggest surprise and thrill, and although I’ve done a little professional photography in the past, I would say this is definitely the most exciting thing that’s happened in my photography career to date!
It’s doubly great because this is one of my favorite, favorite images from my trip to London in 2016. I took it on the first day we arrived, when I was so excited that I didn’t even bother cleaning myself up after our red-eye…basically brushed my teeth and then just hit the ground running with my camera in hand. I wandered around South Kensington and Chelsea until the sun went down, positively DYING over all of the colorful houses and quiet, charming mews streets, and falling in absolute love with London. So this picture is special to me and I couldn’t be happier to see it in this pretty pink and purple magazine spread all about my favorite city (it fits in quite nicely, if I do say so myself!).
PS – this image is available for purchase in my Etsy shop for anyone who wants to bring a little London charm into their own home!
