Moments From My Week

I thought it might be fun to try something new for a Friday post (like, perhaps actually doing a Friday post? Hah!). No but seriously – for a while I’ve done link round-ups on Fridays and while I always enjoy pulling them together and sharing the good articles and products I’ve found (and I like reading other people’s link roundups too!), I realized that when it comes to how I actually want to spend my time working on this blog, sitting in front of the computer and scouring the Interet for hours looking for articles isn’t top of the list. I’d really rather be doing stuff like reading, or being out and about trying something new in the city even if it’s just a coffee shop or something. So that made me think that a peek into my week might be a better post for Fridays going forward. There are always little moments to be enjoyed and celebrated no matter how small they might seem, and that’s what this series is going to be about – appreciating the little things. In a way, it’s what this whole blog has always been about, so it seems apropos! I’ll be sharing what I got up to that week, what podcast or audiobook I’m enjoying, what book I’m reading, something I cooked, a new or favorite restaurant I tried, some decorating I’ve done in the apartment…whatever’s going on at the moment! Sometimes it may just be iPhone pictures but hopefully this little window into my life will be enjoyable for you all!

Probably the most exciting thing that happened this week was that my feature in the Jan/Feb issue of Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine came out! Writer Kimberly Olson contacted me last year about featuring me in their “Itinerary” section, talking about my ideal day of activities in my favorite New York City neighborhood. I of course chose the Upper East Side and had a great time putting together all of my favorites into one fun-sounding, jam-packed day! I feel hugely honored to be featured in such a high quality publication and I’m so grateful!

Reading

I’ve been working away on Circe for a while now and I absolutely love it! It’s so well-written and such an interesting story. I know next to nothing about Greek mythology so I’m learning a lot, and it’s also just really fun to read. I don’t want it to end!

Listening

I recently discovered Read or Dead, a weekly podcast from Book Riot all about mysteries, thrillers, and crime novels. I LOVE mysteries and thrillers so I’m obsessed with this podcast. Not only do they discuss new releases in the genre, but they also talk about what they’re currently reading and current news in the crime/mystery/thriller world – such as the fact that a TV series is being made out of Tana French’s Dublin Murder Squad books, which I was super excited to hear!

Home & Design

Inslee managed to rustle up one last botanical calendar for me – I’m so happy! I’ve had a calendar of hers on my desk for the past few years and I’m glad to continue the tradition.

Have a great weekend!
