A New Everlane Favorite: The Ryan Tank

It’s starting to feel like spring in New York City, which means summer isn’t too far off…which means heat and humidity that defies description isn’t far off. When it’s the dead of summer and that hazy, hot stickiness is hanging in the air, the last thing in the world I feel like doing is fussing around with an outfit. Oh and the last thing in the world I can contemplate wearing is anything with sleeves (even short ones). Enter my new favorite: the Everlane Ryan Tank.

It’s lightweight, supremely soft and comfortable, and the fit is perfection. It’s LONG (which I love since I’m tall) and the neckline isn’t too high that it’s a crew neck, but nor is it so low that I feel like people are staring at my chest (people stare enough in NYC, I don’t like to give them anything to stare at). It’s just the perfect casual tank that I know I’ll be reaching for constantly when the weather heats up, and pretty much year round. You could layer this tank easily with a blazer or cardigan, or wear it on it’s own (even sleep in it). The material looks substantial and expensive, but since it’s Everlane, of course the price is right.

Doing the essential “half-tuck.”
I layered the charcoal gray version with my old Zara jacket and paired it all with my Jennifer Miller necklace, Kate Spade floral bag, and black jeans (please excuse my weird facial expression here…I’m not very good at selfies πŸ™‚

I got one color and then quickly stocked up with two more. I’ve wasted a lot of money (mainly at J. Crew) over the years searching for a good neutral tank top, so I’m happy that Everlane finally made one that fulfills all of the criteria. The tank runs true to size (I’m a medium, which is my usual size). I like it on the slouchy side – much more flattering.

  6. The neckline is definitely looser (like if I bend over I might flash someone), and the fabric is different and feels more silky. Also the tank is definitely longer. But they have a similar slouchy fit, though I think the tank is a little slouchier.

Some of their things Everlane does are good, but they don’t stand behind the quality of their merchandise. I had an issue with the dyes used on a garment and they basically said if it was outsode of their warrenty period, they can’t do much… πŸ™
