A Few Good Links

Zero George-2541

I got back from Charleston on Thursday and wow. We had the greatest time. Charleston is such a picturesque city – full of charm, historical places, and gorgeous architecture. I obviously took about one million pictures and can’t wait to share this upcoming week! We stayed at Zero George, a gorgeous boutique hotel, and I’ll have a full post on that on Monday (sneak peek above!), followed by a Photo Essay and posts on where we ate and what we did. Can’t wait to share!

Now for some links:

Ever wonder how a book goes from manuscript to sitting on the shelf of your local bookstore? On the Penguin Random House blog, they’re doing a series called The Life of a Book that takes you inside the process for one book, through interviews with the editor, marketing team, jacket designer, and more. I’ve always been very interested in book jacket design, so this is super interesting to get even more info beyond that.

Fun to see all of the amazing clothing that the Duchess of Cambridge wore on her and Prince William’s British Royal Tour of India.

I’m totally obsessed with Grady’s Cold Brew and drink it everyday…but who knew it was so easy to make your own at home, with a French press?

Remember when I made alfajores and they were super yummy? Well, if you don’t feel like making your own, a cute online bakery is selling the traditional South American sandwich cookies – they even made a black and white version in honor of the signature NY black and white cookie!

Excited – The Girl on the Train trailer! Do you think it will be good?

Beautiful pictures from Rachel, as always. She makes me want to check out Seattle!

My favorite tote (which I wore in this post), is back! Still love it years later.

These doughnut cookies from Lark and Linen are seriously adorable.

I saw Jacey (Damsel in Dior) wearing the cutest top on Instagram, and had to order it. Yes, I probably have too many peplum tops but I just love them. To me, a peplum adds just the right cute and feminine touch to a could-be-boring tee. I need some casual summer dresses so I also ordered this and this…we’ll see if they fit!

A study suggests that one minute of strenuous exercise is comparable to the benefits gained from 45 minutes of exercise at a slower pace. Crazy, huh?

Thanks for that Penguin Random House link!! I’m definitely going to follow that series.
Ah I’m so excited for Girl on the Train! It looks good but I hope they don’t give away too much in the trailers…
Yes that Madewell tote it great! I’ve had mine for 2 years and it’s still my favourite 🙂

Jackie, I am absolutely intrigued by The girl on the train. I read the book, but for some reason didn’t feel that some of the parts were as gripping as presented in the trailer. I guess it has to do with interpretation. Can’t wait to see what they come up with.

    🙂

I’m interested to see if it’s good! I liked the book but didn’t LOVE it, so curious to see if the movie is better or worse.
