This year I realized that I needed a new fall-winter coat – as much as I love my leather sleeve jacket, I was craving something a little simpler and more streamlined, with less bells and whistles. I settled on this Zara parka and I’ve barely taken it off since it arrived (even with this balmy NYC weather we’ve been having). The inside is amazingly soft (seriously feels like you’re wearing a blanket), and it’s super cozy and warm. There are also these very simple leather trim details which you can’t really see here, but in person they give the coat that little something extra.
I’m in love with the swingy shape and unique pattern placement on this top. How cool are the half stripes? I haven’t seen that before and I think it’s a little less jarring than full on black and white stripes. The top is also available in mottled grey.
Next order of business: my new Madewell bucket bag (which is currently 25% off). I highly recommend it. I’ll admit that after seeing the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag over and over and over, I started to want it. (I’m a marketer’s dream, let me tell ya). Anyway, I love my other Madewell bags so I when I saw how good the reviews were for this one, I decided to go for it. I love the smooth leather and the fact that it has both a long and a short strap. I find it very comfortable to wear – it’s actually not heavy, which is part of what sold me on it, and it’s fun to have a bag with a new-to-me shape. It holds a ton too, my DSLR included.

Very nice! I agree – I like the different take on the stripes. Cute haircolor too!
