My usual shift at work is 11AM – 7:30 PM Monday-Friday, which is pretty great for a late sleeper such as myself. Occasionally they’ll ask me to work the early shift (7AM – 3:30PM), which is quite painful for me (a morning person I am not) – the only upside being that you still have most of the day left when you get out. Usually when I do that I can’t help but come home and collapse on the couch for a nap, from which I usually wake up feeling crappy, but the other day it was so beautiful out that I somehow worked up the motivation to instead take a quick shower after work and head out to Central Park. Best. Decision. Ever. I brought my camera along, the weather was perfection, and I had the loveliest time just wandering around and snapping pictures, which I hadn’t done in forever. I can’t tell you the mood boost it gave me – I felt so refreshed. Sometimes I forget how great Central Park is – I live so close but I feel like I hardly ever make the time to go. It’s certainly easier to do so now that it’s looking so pretty…take a peek after the jump!
That dog!!
Perfect spot for a nap.
The Plaza in the distance.
I actually think that building in the background is so ugly and sticks out into the sky like a sore thumb, but I like the little thatched gazebo in the foreground 🙂
The Mall, one of my favorite parts of the Park. The rows of American Elm trees are just wonderful.
PS: Spring in Central Park last year (one of my all-time favorite Photo Essays):
So pretty! I’m going to try and make it out to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens this weekend with my boyfriend, but if I don’t I’m going to at least do a mid-day walk through Central Park. Need to see these beauties in action!
I might go to the Botanical Garden this weekend too! Can’t get enough of those cherry blossoms 🙂
Beautiful photos!!!????
Thank you! xo
