Photo Essays: Snow Day in Central Park

Is there anything more magical than New York City in the snow? While trekking through Central Park during this past weekend’s snowstorm, I heard someone say “are we in Narnia?” and though (sadly) I haven’t read those books so am not totally familiar with Narnia, if it refers to an enchanting snow-covered wonderland (as I suspect it does), then yes, we had a full-on Narnia situation happening in NYC on Saturday. I hope this is the start to a very snowy season, because there’s nothing better to photograph during the dreary dregs of winter than softly falling flakes and a city blanketed in white.

Ugh, can I book a train up to NYC right now?! (Even though I don’t think there’s currently snow on the ground, haha)–these need to be part of an ad campaign for the city. So, so good!

Your pictures are absolutely beautiful. But personally, I don’t miss the snow one bit. I’ve lived in NY for many years and this time of year was not my favorite. But thanks for the reminder of how beautiful it can be before it turns to slush 🙂
