As I mentioned in this post, I really think you can get great over the knee boots no matter what your budget (check out this great round-up that Victoria did if you’re looking for options galore!). I decided to spring for the Stuart Weitzman 5050 over the knee boots because I’d been dying for them since last year, and when you love something for that long (versus making an impulse purchase), then I think it’s a smart purchase! Read on to check ’em out:
So far I’m loving them! I had to go a half size down, and they’re super comfortable. I absolutely love the look of them and the oomph that they add to the simplest of outfits. For me they definitely ran big, so I recommend sizing down! Even though they came with a pretty hefty price tag, I think boots are an item worth investing in. I plan to wear these for years to come, which has been the case with every pair of boots that I’ve bought in years past. You can always get them re-soled if they start to wear out. I even have this one pair from Aldo that I’ve had honestly for such a long time that I cannot even begin to remember when I got them. I literally wore them to the point that one of the heels had an actual hole in it. Took ’em to the shoe guy, and he put new heels right on, no issue. Still wearing them to this day with no plans on stopping!
This Anne Taylor Loft sweater is one of my favorite fall purchases, and it’s 40% off right now (no code needed). It’s got great texture and it’s cozy without being too heavy, which I like. I love the two-toned aspect and the soft shades of cream and gray. I also like the fact that it’s longer in the back (almost tunic length), which means I can wear it with really slim jeans without feeling like all the attention is on my backside 😉
