Last year I positively pined for the Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots (in black leather). I think my desire was ignited by this ridiculously perfect pic of Olivia Palermo:
Also, this:
I mean, honestly. How is she even real?
Anyway, my obsession definitely reached its peak when (randomly) my former dermatologist walked into our appointment wearing them. And I mean, she happened to look like a model anyway, but the boots looked AMAZING in real life. My obsession went into overdrive, but, I didn’t get them. It was late in the season and I was kind of over shopping for boots…oh also the fact that they cost like 600 dollars might have had something to do with my hesitance. Anyway, now that boot season is swinging around again, I’ve been reminded of the 5050s. Luckily my mom alerted me to two pairs that bear an uncanny resemblance to the Stuart Weitzmans.
I’m partial to the Seychelles ones…I think I prefer the shape of the toe, and they really are almost identical to the 5050s. I’m not sure how much wear I would get out of them, but all the more reason to go for the affordable version, plus Nordstrom has great shipping and return policies so it’s easy to send them back if they don’t work out. And next to the 5050 boot, the prices on these two are looking real good!
Are you guys into over-the-knee boots for fall? Or is it too much “look”?
I have the 5050s and wore them almost every day last fall/winter. Great investment piece. They have been out for over 20 years. Will never go out of style.
She is stunning! I love how both outfits are styled perfectly. I don't have the body type that would work well with those boots, but I think you'd look amazing and could pull it off perfectly!
Thank you! I didn't try the Seychelles ones, but if you're thinking about going for it I would check the Nordstrom reviews, they're usually really helpful! Thanks for reading π

That's fantastic! I love investment pieces that never go out of style, that's pretty much what I want 90% of my closet to be composed of.
PS – I absolutely love and adore your blog!

Olivia Palermo can do no wrong! Love her style!
I say go for it! I recently saw a pair just like this that we're rain proof. If I find the link I'll email it to you π

Totally go for it! With your height, they'll look amazing. With my height, they'd come up to mid-thigh and that ain't pretty.

I noticed that you got the 5050's (they look great on you!), but did you ever get to try the seychelles ones?
