Behind the Books

As you may have noticed, this has basically turned into a book blog! I’ll definitely get back to posting about NYC and interior design (my other favorite topics) in the future, but for now I’m just so into books and reading. So I’m really excited to share a new blog series I’m launching, Behind the Books. As I’ve gotten more into #bookstagram and listening to book podcasts and reading book blogs, I’ve become more and more fascinated by the folks behind the books – the people who help bring books to life and get them into the hands of readers. Obviously the author is the face of the book, but there are so many other people involved! Behind everything you read, there are literary agents, marketers, editors, publicists, book bloggers, podcasters, cover designers, book designers, and so many others who help bring an author’s vision to life and get books into your hands. As an obsessive fan of all things bookish, I’ve loved talking to a few of these people over the last few weeks. All are book lovers as well, and it was fascinating to hear what it’s like to be involved in all the behind-the-scenes of that world. First up will be a conversation with one of my favorite book podcasters and bloggers, Sarah from Sarah’s Bookshelves Live. Sarah is a voracious reader and some of the best things I’ve read recently have come from her recommendations, so I’m so excited to share our conversation! See you back here next week!
