Club Monaco Fall 2014 Press Preview

You know that saying that most women wear 20% of their wardrobe, 80% of the time? Well, for me that 20% is all from Club Monaco. Their pieces strike that perfect balance of being totally easy to wear, but with interesting details that give them a special and unique edge. Club Monaco was also the first retailer that I shopped in where I actually noticed the quality and touchability of the fabrics, and what a difference that could make. The flowy silks, the soft knits, the edgy leather detailing, the perforated pieces…I could go on. Their items are truly great quality as well, which is unfortunately rare these days – I have a pair of gloves from them that have held up over several winters, when most gloves that I’ve bought in the past haven’t lasted one. I just love everything that I’ve ever bought there, and that’s saying a lot because I’m one of those people who shops and then mysteriously winds up hating everything I’ve ever bought (I know I’m not the only one!) But my Club Monaco pieces are the ones that I find myself reaching for again and again. I tend to do most of my shopping online, but when it comes to Club Monaco, their brick and mortar stores are just really charming and a great shopping experience. I’m enamored with their gorgeous flagship, (which I posted about here), which includes an outpost of the famed Strand bookstore, a charming flower shop, and a little cafe as well as all of their newest clothing, shoes and accessories.

So, being such a big fan, I was super, super excited (and flattered), to be invited to Club Monaco’s Fall 2014 Press Preview! I cannot think of another retailer whose invitation to a press preview (or anything) would excite me more.

Love the wishbone necklace. It’s delicate, but not TOO dainty.
I immediately fell for this sweater/blouse combo – both are right up my alley. I love the tweed and the leather trim on the cardigan, and I definitely have a thing for sleeveless, layered white blouses like that. I have a few in my closet currently…but there’s always room for one more!
A better view of the blouse…it’s a perfect layering piece because it’s not boring. The layers around the middle and bottom keep it interesting so your look would be textural and layered, not flat.
Showstopper! How fun would this bow cocktail dress be to wear?

Another gorgeous necklace.

Another one of my favorites because…3-d flowers. That’s a no brainer and I have two similar pieces living in my closet (one from Club Monaco last summer) currently. Doesn’t mean I can’t make room for one more…at least I get points for consistency, right?
I’m a HUGE fan of florals, all year round. I loved the 70’s-esque vibe to this one, and the easy breezy, but sophisticated shape.
DIED for this coat, with the mixed textures and the black cuffs. Perfection.
Also died for this chunky knit in a gorgeous oatmeal color, again with a perfect leather trim. So simple but chic.
I’m a huge sucker for studs, so this bag was right up my alley.
This leather jacket caught my eye because of the rose gold hardware…so unique. I’ve never seen anything like that, and it was gorgeous.
I feel like I would wear that geode necklace every day. It’s so easy to throw on, would go with everything, and makes just enough of a statement. It somehow feels both uptown and downtown at the same time, which is basically how I want to look, always.
More of my favorite things…florals and white blouses. I LOVE the shoulder details on the floral blouse, because it adds just the perfect bit of edginess to something so feminine. And if there’s one thing I love more than a sleeveless white blouse, it’s a sleeveless white blouse with pleats. I just LOVE pleats! Totally want both of these pieces, in my closet, now.
Those black and white shoes are just gorgeous.
This was such a fun experience and I can’t say thank you enough to the Club Monaco team for having me!
