Cozy Sherpa

I’ve always been a big fan of sherpa – so much so that it was the subject of my very first blog post! In all of the ensuing years, my love for the warm material has not waned. Which is why I’ve found myself loving J. Crew’s sherpa hooded parka:

It’s funny, as time has gone on my taste in outwear seems to have shifted. I currently own two coats from years past that are very feminine and a little fancy – one a peacoat and one a black wool coat. Last year I don’t think I wore either one once, eschewing them for my navy J. Crew puffer and my Zara leather sleeved army jacket…both less fancy and more sort of sporty. I guess I’m into outerwear these days that’s less preppy and more on the utilitarian side. I like to pair more rugged jackets like this parka with a really nice bag and pretty flats to keep the look a mix of uptown + downtown, which is the vibe I’m usually going for.
What kind of outerwear are you guys into these days?

I'm into the more utilitarian outwear as well, especially because of the winters we've been having! I love my Barbour coat because I can zip in the liner (which is sooo warm) when it's cold and unzip it for fall. I'm hoping to add a coat with a touch of leather this fall.

    • Yes, I love Barbour coats! It is great to have a coat with a removable lining, I think a raincoat with that is especially helpful. Let's hope this winter isn't as heinous as last years!
