Common Good

Having nice hand soap in the kitchen and the bathroom is just one of those little things that can make your home feel a bit more nice and put together. One of my favorite companies for hand and dish soap is Common Good, and has been for years. Not only are their products great, but their commitment to being eco-friendly is admirable. I really love that they use all natural ingredients (no questionable chemicals or fake, overpowering scents), and if you go to the website, they give their customers the breakdown on what all of the ingredients actually are (in plain English) – how refreshing!
Admittedly, I didn’t even know about Common Good’s eco-friendliness at first, but rather bought the soap because of the adorable little illustration on the gorgeous glass bottle (which is no wonder, considering that the founders of the company are former stylists). I also branched out into the plastic bottle, which is pictured above. I found them at Mignon Kitchen Co. and I’ve been a devotee ever since. The best thing about their lavender soap is that it is so subtly and lightly scented (with essential oils), unlike the chemically, fake, strong “scents” of other hand soaps. They sell unscented items as well, but the lavender really is so subtle it practically seems unscented. I think it’s great to be able to support an awesome company while also getting to use an aesthetically pleasing product! They also sell refills so you never have to throw out those gorgeous bottles. Reducing waste and giving you something pretty to put on your counter – now that’s my kind of company!

  3. What beautiful packaging! I am allergic to lavender, but I will have to check them out and see if they have any other scents available 🙂

They also have refill stations, and you can take your bottles to a store and refill them instead of buying the big refill size.

    • Yes, that's true! I couldn't find a refill station near me but I'll have to look again.
