Classic: Chambray Shirt

When it comes to building a wardrobe, I like the idea of sticking to simple classics that never go out of style and appear effortless, yet stylish. Then I like to punch up a look with bold, bright accessories, eye-catching shoes, or a colorful bag.
Take the chambray shirt, for example. It’s so easy to wear and pair, yet it’s still so sexy and stylish. Tucked or untucked, with the sleeves rolled up, it’s just got a versatility and effortlessness to it that I adore. It’s clearly timeless, and can be worn at any age and any time of year. It’s one of those things you have in your closet that you always find yourself going for, because it looks great with no thought whatsoever. That’s my kind of shirt!
I think chambray looks best with black skinny jeans. Ashley Olsen clearly agrees with me:

Looks SO GOOD layered with pink:

I like it best the way Kate Bosworth wears it here-oversized, untucked, with very skinny jeans. The oversized factor is part of what gives the easy, “just threw this on” vibe. Bonus- you can eat whatever you want!

I love the denim shirt with skirt look-especially a sparkly skirt! This is J. Crew Resort 2012:

This is one of my favorite shirts-just as easy to throw on as the classic button down, it features a lightweight fabric and charming chambray stripes:

I LOVE chambray with white pants! (Samantha of Could I Have That).

I think my favorite look is the chambray shirt with the white pants. I love the contrast and it stays far away from the "canadian tuxedo" look.

    • Christina I got one at Gap a few years back that I've always loved. They usually have some good options, but definitely J. Crew has some great ones they usually always keep in stock online.
