Moments From My Week

Happy weekend! Here’s a little bit of what I got up to this week:

Reads

I totally need new books, right? Not exactly, but in my defense, I had a gift card! I can’t wait to dive into these this weekend. I already know The Gardens of Bunny Mellon is just beautiful because I got it for my Mom for Christmas! So many images of just the most incredible gardens…you want to walk right into the page (especially now in the depths of winter, when everything is brown and gray). The Mario Buatta book I’m also really looking forward to – his style was so colorful and since his nickname was “The Prince of Chintz” I just know I’m going to love learning more about his work.

NYC

Last night I went to the loveliest event for Josh Young Design House at the beautiful Circa Lighting showroom in Flatiron. It was so lovely to finally meet Josh after knowing each other through Instagram for a while now – he was just as sweet as I expected and he is SO talented! I love his work so much, and it keeps getting better. The three new pieces above were just stunning in person. I literally wanted them all and also to rearrange my entire apartment around them (totally normal, right?). I also met the sweetest blog reader who came up and introduced herself, I was so excited! She made my night when she told me that she actually found Josh’s work through my posts about him!

Eats

After the event I went to one of my favorite restaurants, abcV, with my friend Lori. It’s so good! All of the ABC restaurants are amazing, and as I’ve definitely mentioned before, I’m obsessed with their housemade sodas. This one is a haksap soda (not a berry I’d ever heard of before) and it was delish. I’ve been to abcV a few times for dinner but I’m dying to try their brunch.

Speaking of brunch, this weekend I’m trying out at a new spot called Frenchette. I picked it the way I pick most restaurants – based on the typography of their signage. It’s been a pretty solid strategy so far :). Hope you all have a great weekend!
