A lot of you that gave feedback in my reader survey (thank you again!) asked for more personal posts and peeks into my life. I figured these these link posts would be a good opportunity to share some more about what I’ve been up to lately, what I’m loving, what I’m doing, and what I’m thinking about – just what’s going on in my life. We’ll see how it goes, and let me know what you think!
Anyway, so glad the weekend is here. I was off work all last week and my Mom came to stay with me – a yearly tradition that always flies by way too fast. We did so much fun stuff – the Met Costume Exhibit (and the Psycho Barn), a fun dinner at Maialino with my brother and sister, a visit to the Conservatory Garden (where we took these pictures), tea at the Plaza, and tons more. My parents live on Long Island (not too far from the city), and my Dad works in the city, so they’re here a fair amount, but this is the only time my Mom stays over for an extended period. It kind of started because of her coming in for the Kips Bay Show House and grew from there into a yearly tradition where we just pack in as many fun activities as possible…we’re usually so exhausted by the end of the week that we just stay in my apartment and chill and talk on the last day, which often turns out to be the most fun of all!
I’ll have lots of fun content coming up for you next week from all of the fun things we did, including a recap of the Met Costume Exhibit, the Isaac Mizrahi exhibit at the Jewish Museum (so good), a couple more outfit posts…can’t wait to share!
This weekend I’m heading back to by Chloe for brunch with a friend I haven’t seen in way too long – excited! By Chloe is a vegan place down in the West Village and it is amazingly good. Like, it’s delicious for regular food, but for vegan food…can’t even believe it. Food I enjoy and don’t have to feel guilty about? Shocking! Anyway I’ll be featuring it on the blog soon but if you’re in NYC or Silver Lake, CA (their second location just opened there), you gotta give it a try. I’ll also be checking out the soon-to-be-opening Sweetgreen Upper East Side location – more healthy food! Go me!
Now for some fun reads and things I’m loving lately:
Obsessed with these. Multi-colored splatter, plus supporting equality? Thumbs up (and look at the bottoms!).
Remember how I’m obsessed with Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit? It was cool to see a behind-the-scenes biscuit making session with Callie herself featured on Waiting on Martha! Great photography in this post.
Guess I’m obsessed with dresses…I ordered this one from Old Navy (currently on sale) recently, and I loved the style and shape but it was way too big. I ordered it a size down so fingers crossed…I love the pattern so much!
The definitive Sex and the City Guide to New York…Bergdorfs, Magnolia, ABC Carpet and Home…so many good spots. That show will just never get old or cliche in my eyes. Classic. There are some cool little behind-the-scenes tidbits in the article too.
Yum, summer berry pizza with mascarpone and honey.
I can’t wait to go home to Long Island this summer and visit the 2016 Hampton Designer Show House as I do every year (you can see my photos from last years house here). It’s something I look forward to every summer, and I’m extra excited this year because two of my favorite designers, Erin Gates and McGrath II, are designing rooms! It’s just so much fun to see inside a huge and beautiful Hampton home – all those high end finishes, the amazing outdoor areas, and best of all seeing the way each designer interprets that laid-back, summery Hamptons vibe and blends it with their own aesthetic to create a unique and creative space.
Speaking of the South Fork (i.e., the Hamptons), this year I’ll be heading out there armed with Will’s list of the best decor shops in the Hamptons. Especially excited to visit Jayson Home!
Loooove these bookshelves.
I’m late to the TV party as usual, but are you guys watching Younger? It’s SO good! And could Nico Tortorella be any cuter? I kind of can’t take it.
Excited for Caroline Donofrio’s redesigned blog, and forthcoming book club!
Homemade strawberry milk sounds exactly like something I need to make immediately, if not sooner. YUM.
Have a great weekend!

I’ve been wanting to try by Chloe for so long now! Every time I pass by though, it’s just so crowded! That’s a sign of really good food though 🙂
That stopped me for a little while too, but the line actually goes pretty quick and since it’s impossible to get a seat you can just bring your food to Washington Square Park (really close by), and there are tons of benches and picnic tables. Or if you’re determined to get a seat (as I was last weekend), just show up a few minutes before they open and you’re good to go. Always gotta be strategic in this city 🙂
So intrigued to try by Chloe since I listened to a cherry bombe podcast episode that interviewed her.And also Younger is one of my favorite series, can’t wait for the next season.
Yes, I loved that interview!
