Designer I Love: Lilly Bunn

photo32-large

Recently I became familiar with the work of New York City based designer Lilly Bunn, and I love her traditional meets funky aesthetic. Lilly started out as a fashion editor at Town and Country and launched her own design firm in 2009 after working for McMillen, Inc. She uses a mix of bright colors and bold patterns layered over neutral anchor pieces to create a fresh, contemporary, yet timeless look that’s all her own. Her rooms are classic but always interesting and fresh. Here are a few of my favorites from her portfolio:

I love the wild wallpaper and the lovely floral chair, and also really into that lucite magazine holder!

This is a family home she designed:

I LOVE those multi-dotted pillowcases…I think they’re D. Porthault? Also how cool is that navy tufted headboard?

She dubbed this project “Downtown Traditional”:

Wallpaper! Also love those sconces.

A prewar Park Avenue apartment:

Square backed chairs, like I talked about in this post.

I love those black border pillows and the lucite coffee table. You can get similar pillows here and a similar coffee table here.

Such a soothing and bright bedroom – a sanctuary.

Traditional meets modern.

Serene and classic for the bedroom.

Lilly’s work has been featured on Domaine, Vogue, and One Kings Lane, to name just a few, and you can also catch a glimpse of her personal style in her Coveteur feature.
