L.A Burdick Chocolate Cafe

While exploring the Gramercy/Flatiron neighborhoods over the weekend, my sister and I happened upon the most adorable little chocolate shop and cafe a little ways over from Gramercy Park, called L.A. Burdick. We were in the mood to stop and rest for a bit, so we popped in and helped ourselves to their Iced Hot Chocolate (SO decadent), and a few pieces of handmade chocolates. It was delicious and such a lovely little treat! The shop was adorable and charming, with a homey, slightly shabby-chic vibe. It was quiet, not crowded, and just had a great vibe, almost like a cute gift shop you would find in a small town in Vermont or something (kind of a weird description, but that was how it felt!) You can buy chocolate bars, cocoa powder, tea, and more, or sit yourself down and enjoy a chocolately drink, a coffee, or one of their gorgeous pastries. I definitely recommend stopping in if you ever find yourself in the area, and I can’t wait to go back. Stumbling upon adorable little spots like this reminds me why I love this city so much!

  1. You had me a "chocolate cafe" haha! This sounds like a great place…my kind of place. I will have to remember this for the next time I take a trip to NY.

You are spot on in your description. The original L.A. Burdick's is in Walpole, NH…a stone's throw across the Connecticutt River from Vermont!

I love L.A. Burdick! FYI if you're ever in Boston there is one in the Back Bay and another in Cambridge! It's so great to sit and sip a hot chocolate during a snow storm!
