Hampton Showhouse Snaps

Over the summer, my Mom and I made it a point to visit the Hampton Designer Showhouse (the day before we saw this). We try to go every year, and if you’re in the area I highly recommend it! It’s fun to compare it to the other one we attend each year in the spring, the Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse in New York City. The Hamptons one is that beachy, giant-house-with-a-pool-and-tennis-court lifestyle, and the city one is that Upper East side townhouse lifestyle-both highly covetable and highly unattainable! But so fun to admire. This past summer, the Hamptons showhouse was beautiful, and every room showcased the talent of the incredibly creative designers who participated. I tend to love a lot of the little details at these showhouses, so here are a few of my favorites:

Hampton Designer Showhouse | York Avenue
As my smart Mom always points out, often the art is what makes the big impact in these showhouses. The designers manage to find the most unique, striking pieces, and they really make the room. I loved the colors and the ethereal feel of the piece above.

Another piece that really struck me-I love black and white art with strong lines like this.

One more gorgeous painting.

Skull decanter at the Hampton Designer Showhouse 2013 | York Avenue
This was the first shot I snapped-I liked how unexpected this skeleton decanter was on the basement bar.

Hampton Designer Showhouse light fixture | York Avenue

How gorgeous is this light fixture in the gigantic entryway? What a perfect way to fill that big open space.

Limited edition bottles of Evian by Christian Lacroix with a pretty lace pattern.

I’m pretty much obsessed with branches as a design element (on lamps, mirrors, side tables…anything), so this table was a big winner for me (even though they were only using it to store printed material, rather than in one of the decorated rooms!)

Loved this glam side table with the open geometric pattern in gold.

Spool candles at Hampton Designer Showhouse | York Avenue

I really liked these candles-they reminded me of spool beds.

Coiled light fixture at Hampton Designer Showhouse | York Avenue
DIED for this coiled light fixture. When you go to showhouses, NEVER forget to look up!
Slipper chairs at the 2013 Hampton Designer Showhouse | York Avenue
LOVED the black and white floral pattern on these adorable little slipper chairs! Also thought it was great the way they used a different pattern for the pillows, but kept it all black and white so you hardly notice the pattern mixing.

I actually have a lot more photos of the showhouse to share, but I didn’t want to overload this post! More to come, so be sure to check back.
