Fresh Flowers and Springtime Strolls

Over the weekend I picked up my first-ever bunch of ranunculus at Whole Foods, and I just love how wild and untamed they look…like you just picked them from a field or something. So pretty. Now that it’s spring, I feel even more of an urge than usual to have fresh flowers in my apartment all the time.

I also picked up some gorgeous tulips. They’re white with the most amazing bits of light purple that literally look painted on:

So pretty. Anyway, along with the urge for fresh flowers, spring also brings the desire to take lots of walks. Flowers are blooming and the neighborhood is looking extra lovely (even though it’s still quite chilly). I’ve been trying to savor every moment of good weather these past few weeks and soak it all in as much as possible.

This picture isn’t really spring-ish, it’s just that I was so charmed by that red door randomly hanging out in the middle of the wall, where no door should be. Must be some sort of holdover from the way the building was back in the old days..or something? I have no idea, but I kinda loved it.

  1. the cherry blossoms are FINALLY starting to bloom in my neighborhood in downtown jersey city. that horrible SNOW/ICE we had a few weeks ago killed most of the buds, but some are starting to show, and it finally feels like spring is showing it's pretty face πŸ™‚

    cheers.
