Dallas Shaw’s The Way She Wears It: Book Review + A Giveaway

I’m so excited for today’s post – a peek inside Dallas Shaw’s gorgeous new book, The Way She Wears It: The Ultimate Insider’s Guide to Revealing Your Personal Style. Best of all, though – I have three copies to give away! Enter to win using the Rafflecopter widget at the end of the post – it’s super easy and you’re definitely going to want this book.

Dallas Shaw’s The Way She Wears It is introduced as a style guide from the ultimate fashion insider. While Dallas is just that, the thing that truly made me love this book is the fact that it feels as if you’re talking to a friend – but your coolest, most effortlessly stylish friend.

Dallas’s credentials are impressive – as a creative in the fashion industry, she’s been imparting her unique eye for style to some of the biggest brands in the biz for years. As she explains in the book, Dallas spends her days surrounded by some of the most artistic, creative, and stylish people in the fashion industry, providing them with creative direction, project management, fashion illustration, visual consultations and more. Her client roster is crazy impressive – she counts Kate Spade, Stuart Weitzman and Serena and Lily among her current and past clients (to name just a few). She’s created custom artwork for such brands as Carolina Herrera, AERIN, and DKNY to publicize store openings, new products and more. Her artwork makes this book a pleasure to read, and provides all of the visual inspiration you would want in a style book. The Way She Wears It is a style guide and a workbook, with fill-in-the-blank pages that pose questions to guide the reader towards their own personal style. The book is broken up by season, with guidance for mixing prints in spring, packing for sunny destinations in summer, mixing masculine + feminine in fall, and staying warm and stylish in winter. She also touches on the more personal topics that come into play when discussing personal style, such as feeling confident in your own skin and getting comfortable taking risks with your look. There’s advice and inspiration for taking care of your clothes properly, decluttering your closet, organizing and displaying jewelry, and more. Dallas teaches you how to get a beach wave, rock a red lip, and have a “monochromatic moment,” while also encouraging readers to break fashion rules and trust their own taste.

The Way She Wears It is fun reading with a lot of useful advice, stylish inspiration, and visual eye candy – I’ve read a lot of style books, and this is definitely a new favorite. So I’m super excited to be able to give a copy away to three readers. Enter to win using the Rafflecopter widget below and feel free to share with your friends – good luck!
