Balancing Career and Blogging

JC-A

I’m honored to have been featured recently in a Career Spotlight on the website Carpe Juvenis (which means seize your youth). One of the site’s founders, Lauren, interviewed and photographed me for the feature, and it was such a pleasure to meet her! She’s a really smart and lovely girl, and I’m super grateful to her for the wonderful feature. In the interview I’m sharing a bit about my life outside blogging, what it’s like to be an operating room RN, and how I make time for hobbies like blogging and reading while working full-time. I hope you’ll all check out the interview and let me know what you think!

PS – remember when I wrote about my friend Julie, who developed an awesome workout program called fitBallet? Well, her company has made it to the semi-finalist round of the Well+Good Future of Wellness competition, which recognizes the top wellness startups. Julie really deserves to be recognized – she’s a hard worker, super smart, and incredibly positive, not to mention a wonderful fitness role model. I really, really believe in her company and her message, so if you could take literally a few seconds to just click here and vote for her (super easy, you don’t have to login or anything, just click a button), I would appreciate it so much, and she would as well!

  1. I loved your interview and am fascinated by the two totally different jobs…I think an OR nurse would be exciting and then come home at night and you get to use your creative side…you’re one busy lady! Congrats to Julie, that’s amazing!

I think your blog is fun and stylish, and I’m sure it’s a reflection of you. The fact that you have a career as important as OR nurse is actually why I read your blog. I”m interested in your take on life in New York precisely because you contribute so much to the city. Keep it up!

Really loved the article. As someone who is applying to accelerated nursing programs and has many of the same interests as you, I love reading how you balance the two. Keep it up 🙂

    Hi Jackie,
I enjoyed reading your interview. I so appreciate your focus on saving and clean food.
For me it is difficult at times to balance my love for interiors, fashion, beauty, travel and healthy food and saving! It is so crucial though! I enjoy your blog;-) thank you for sharing your life. It’s fun to know great people through blogs. Fun and inspiring!
