A Few Good Links

Hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing long weekend!

Loved seeing this colorful DC project from J+G Design.

Decorating tips for your 20s, 30s, and beyond from Victoria Hagan.

Excited to see this: Jenni Kayne x Parachute.

I don’t know why I waited so long to order this dress…it arrived last week and I’m obsessed with it already.

I won this lamp on Instagram! Guys, enter Instagram and blog contests…the odds are in your favor!

Sézane is opening in NYC! Woohoo…keep an eye on my Insta stories ’cause I’ll be taking you inside the press preview 🙂

30% off rugs at Serena and Lily for Labor Day! I’m considering this one for my living room.

I decided that I’m going to paint my dresser deep navy and add these gold handles…excited for the change!

I can’t even begin to imagine the devastation that so many are facing in Texas right now…and simultaneously, my faith in humanity has been restored seeing so many people come together to help one another in this time of crisis. Reporters helping people out of their flooded houses…folks making human chains to save people and pets…an owner of a mattress chain literally saying “to hell with profits this year” and opening up his stores to shelter victims….it’s amazing. If any of you are in a position to help, even in a small way – here’s how you can do so.

NYC print available in my Etsy shop

Thank you for using your platform to talk about Hurricane Harvey. I am in the Houston area and although my family is fine, so many of my Houston neighbors are not. I love that bloggers are spreading the word about things that can be done. I just ask that these people who lost everything are not forgotten once the news cameras leave. They have a long road ahead of them, so your continued support means everything.

Happy to help in what little way I possibly can! I’ve seen such an outpouring of support and it makes me feel so much better about the world, when all the other news is just so sad and disheartening these days. I hope the support continues as well!

How are you always winning blog giveaways?! Lol I know, I know; first step: enter.
And thanks for mentioning ways to help in Texas. I’m a Houstonian. The weather is hot and sunny again. Some of us are back to work. But there are still helicopters busy flying overhead, and so many who have been misplaced and have lost so much. It feels good to see all of the help coming from inside and outside the region, and just generally, people giving a damn. Mattress Mac of Gallery Furniture has always been an icon of Houston. He’s not a perfect guy, but he steps up for his community even on a regular day. As a reader of many blogs, I sincerely appreciate any awareness that bloggers bring to solemn events in the real world, so, a big thank you.

Hah, I have no idea! My mom’s friend told her to always enter blog (and Instagram) giveaways because the odds are really good that you can win, just relatively I guess there aren’t THAT many people that enter. And it seems to be true!

I can only imagine how disorienting it must feel to have helicopters flying around and just so much..not chaos, but weirdness, I guess. I know it will take a long, long time to get back to “normal” but I hope it gets a little bit better each day.
