A Few Good Links

In case you haven’t heard (kidding), it snowed here yesterday. I faced that ever-present internal conflict…go out and take pretty snow pictures…or stay cozy warm inside? Sadly, my laziness won out. Always so tired after day shift…and it was just so nice and warm and dry inside. I hope it snows again before winter’s over!

On a related note, as much as I love to shoot in snow, I realized that I’m woefully unprepared for such an endeavor. I have no snow boots, no hat, no scarf – what the heck. I ordered a pair of snow boots from Nordstrom this week, so hoping those will work out, and I’ll be on the lookout for a good scarf and hat (maybe on good sale, since it’s toward the end of the season?).

In other news, I started watching The Crown this week and am loving it. I also attended a cool talk at the 92nd Street Y on Wednesday, featuring founders of Food52 Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs, Gretchen Rubin, who I love, and Charles Duhigg as moderator. It was interesting and I’m definitely looking forward to keeping an eye out for other lectures there in the future.

I flipped through this book in the bookstore the other day and it looks really interesting! Love the illustrations too, of course.

Just ordered this shirt – love the easy shape and cute tie sleeves.

Also love these pajamas.

What the real Mr. Darcy would’ve looked like…”more ballet dancer than beefcake.”

Just ordered this bag, which I think will be great for casual summer days.

Also ordered this pretty top.

I spotted the trailer for The Zookeepers Wife, a book I read a few years ago. Really excited for it.

John Oliver returns this weekend – joy!

Drooling. This looks so good.

Five (free) ways to freshen up your space.

A brief history of chick lit.

Added a few new Paris shots to the Etsy shopthis is a favorite of mine.

“There is a hideous injustice overwhelming the world right now. I’m speaking, of course, of the war on sugar. Many books and studies are asserting that sugar causes or contributes to multiple fatal illnesses, costing billions of dollars in health care each year. I dispute none of this. But I would like to add that sugar tastes really, really good.” This article made me laugh.

People are oddly evil to JK Rowling on Twitter, but her responses are pure gold. Example: a troll who disagreed with her politics said ‘gonna go burn your books and DVDs now.’ Her response: “Well, the fumes from the DVDs might be toxic and I’ve still got your money, so by all means borrow my lighter.” Hah!
